FOR THE FIRST TIME IN BALTIC STATES ROYAL BLOOD WILL PERFORM IN POSITIVUS FESTIVAL

The British rock band Royal Blood, who have received awards as “Best British Band” and Mercury Award nomination as “Best Album of the Year”, along with many major festivals in Europe, joins Positivus festival line-up to already announced The 1975, Disclosure Dj set, Underworld and many more artists. Positivus festival will take place on July 26th and 27th. Tickets this year are much more accessible and available at www.positivusfestival.com and Biļešu Serviss.

Royal Blood is an EN rock duo. Comprising drummer Ben Thatcher and bassist/ vocalist Mike Kerr, the two-piece Royal Blood band formed at the beginning of 2013. Although constrained to just two instruments, they made their presence known with pounding drums and heavily distorted bass guitar that drove the melodic intensity of their songs. They channel the blues-rock dynamism of the likes of the White Stripes, the Black Keys, and Two Gallants.

In 2014 they won NME Award as “Best live band” & Best New band”, Brit Awards as “Best British group” and Kerrang! Award as “Best British Newcomer”. They have also won Q Awards as “Best Live Act”, GMA Awards as “Breakthrough Non-Metal band/artist” and have been nominated to the Mercury Prize as “Album of the year”.

They were championed by the BBC on their Sound of 2014 list, as well as Arctic Monkeys’ Matt Helders, who wore their T-shirt during their headlining 2013 Glastonbury performance and invited them to open their huge Finsbury Park shows.

Tours with Iggy Pop and Foo Fighters followed, and in early 2015 Royal Blood won Best British Group at the Brit Awards, receiving their trophy from an admirer, none other than Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.
