This year there will be a brand new area at Positivus Festival – the Jersika Records Vinyl Market. The Vinyl Market will offer an opportunity to purchase a wide variety of vinyl records directly from collectors, as well as learn interesting facts from specially invited musicians and music guests about the history of the vinyl format, its evolution and significance. There will be special DJ sets with music played only on vinyl. As previously stated, Positivus will take place in July 20 – 22 this summer.

“The name of Jersika Records is taken from Jersika Street Vinyl Day – an event devoted to vinyl culture that, this fall, will take place in Riga for the fifth year running. We are excited to create and support the vinyl market at Positivus festival and hope this will grow into a nice, annual tradition of the festival” says Mareks Ameriks, the creator of Jersika Records Vinyl Market.

Make sure you don’t miss out Jersika Records music hour at the Nature Stage on Saturday morning. The Jersika Records hour will offer a possibility to hear brand new music from some of the best jazz and improvised music artists from Latvia – both, the ones that have already released their music with the label and the ones still working on the albums.  The saxophonist Toms Rudzinski and Dāvis Jurka, contrabassist Stanislav Yudin and drummer Kaspars Kurdeko.
