Yesterday in Lucavsala took place the first day of the seventeenth Positivus Festival. The most tradition-rich festival in the Baltics continues in Lucavsala today, August 9, inviting all music lovers to enjoy a sunny weekend together with friends and family – with a wide program of foreign artists, the most current local stars, and abundant entertainment activities.

After an energizing and dance rhythm–filled first day of the festival, today visitors will also be treated to a number of world- and Latvia-recognized and beloved musicians and DJs. The festival gates today, August 9, will open at 14.00. Please note that entry to the festival is the same as attending any concert – if you have purchased a ticket, go straight to the entrance where it will be scanned. (There is no need to go to the Positivus Welcome Office to exchange your ticket for a wristband.) If you plan to spend the whole day in the festival area, a wristband is not necessary. Only those who wish to leave the festival area for a while and return later need to put a paper wristband on their wrist at the exit. Tickets for entry to the festival today are available both at www.positivusfestival.com and at the entrance to the area.

Today on the Positivus Festival main stage, the first performance begins at 16.15, when visitors will be delighted by one of the most streamed Latvian hip-hop artists, Wiesulis. The charming Latvian indie group Carnival Youth will start at 17.45, the American electronic music multi-instrumentalist Two Feet – appreciated by music lovers – will perform at 19.15, the popular German group Milky Chance will start at 21.15, and the owner of a powerful voice, performer of the hit “Human,” Rag’n’Bone Man is expected at 23.30.

The Lielvārdes Stage today starts concerts already at 15.30 with a performance by the Los Angeles alternative hip-hop collective NOFUN! At 17:00 Hippie Sabotage will take the stage. They will be followed at 18.30 by Fiņķis, and at 20.15 – the experimental music duo The Hellp. The final concert on the Lielvārdes Stage will start at 22.30, when the always-anticipated in Latvia Ivan Dorn will delight the public.

In the Red Bull zone today from 19.00 until 21.00 will take place the street dance battles Red Bull Dance Your StyleLatvian national final, where Positivus spectators will determine the winner in live voting, granting them a ticket to the international final in Los Angeles, USA. After midnight at 00.30 Might Delete Later will perform here, and at 01.30 – the experienced Estonian DJ trio Tjuun In.

At the Lielvārdes Silent Disco, DJs will compete for dancers’ sympathies: DJ NICCO & DJ Lauma Valērija, DJ Aspirins & DJ Ralph Brum, as well as DJ Dubra & DJ Brumo.

In the EHR Dance Zone party bus on the festival’s second day will be hosted by DJ Stocka, DJ Makree, and DJ Gustavito.

On the Jägermeister Stage today will perform the winner of the young DJ competition Evolution DJ Battle, Kapteinis Reinis, as well as Brass Band, DJ All-viss, and DJ PM2AM.

In the sustainable fashion community Bourzma zone, the party will be hosted by DJ Extrawein, DJ Tipsy Tits, DJ Cukurpaps, Jaunatne, as well as DJ Kaķis & DJ Suns.

Meanwhile, in the Q-SPACE zone tonight will also be hosted by Penthaus Calling, before whom at the DJ booth we will also see DJ Mark Kadek.
