INTERNATIONAL LINEUP OF DJS AND A CHANCE TO WIN A TICKET TO LOS ANGELES AWAIT AT POSITIVUS FESTIVAL

This weekend, August 8–9, one of the most tradition-rich festivals in the Baltics – Positivus Festival – will take place in Lucavsala with a wide-ranging lineup of international and local artists.

In addition to concerts, the festival will offer a rich variety of activities and dance zones, including the Red Bull Zone, which will feature a lineup of international DJs and host the Latvian national final of the Red Bull Dance Your Style street dance competition.

This year the Red Bull Zone will bring together a stellar lineup of DJs from the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Estonia, and Latvia. On Friday, the first night of the festival, UK garage producer and DJ Conducta will take the stage. Known for playing on major club stages across Europe and the US, Conducta rose to fame with his double platinum AJ Tracey single “Ladbroke Grove” and his work with the label Kiwi Records.

Also on Friday, the Red Bull Zone will host Flava D – a producer and DJ renowned in the UK garage, grime, and bassline scenes, and one of the most influential women in these genres. Together with Royal-T and DJ Q, she is also part of the powerful DJ/producer trio TQD.

Before Conducta and Flava D hit the stage, the rhythms in the Red Bull dance zone will be set by LEGZDINA – a vocalist, rapper, and songwriter born in Latvia and based in London – performing with Australian-born, London-based DJ, producer, and radio personality Lara Fraser. LEGZDINA, known for her powerful stage presence and collaborations with artists like Idris Elba, Sara Landry, and Latvia’s own Bel Tempo, blends alt-pop, R&B, UK garage, and electronic music. Lara Fraser is known for her energetic sets that captivate crowds at large-scale events like Formula 1, Wembley Arena, the Cannes Film Festival, and beyond.

On Saturday, the Red Bull Zone will host a unique event – the Latvian national final of Red Bull Dance Your Style, a street dance battle where the winner will be chosen live by the Positivus audience. Fourteen dancers will battle it out for a chance to represent Latvia at the World Final in Los Angeles, including: Piton, Bagira Revlon Tutti, Lola, Marta, Valters, Non Serious, Babris, Dayana, JJ, Brunya, Ditox, Jana, Charly, and Laura – all selected from over 60 dancers in nationwide qualifiers.

In addition, two “wild card” dancers will join the final: Goshawty, who represented Latvia in the 2023 World Final in Frankfurt, Germany, and Kostya Overhitz, who received a special invite following his performance at the Center street dance battle.

In Red Bull Dance Your Style, two solo dancers face off in each round, improvising to randomly selected tracks from various genres. The challenge? They don’t know what song will play until it starts. The audience alone determines the winner by holding up blue or red voting cards. This time, the Positivus crowd will have the power to decide who represents Latvia at the World Final in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Linda Paulauska and Baiba Klints.

But the dance battles won’t be the end — Saturday night at the Red Bull Zone will also feature a performance by Might Delete Later, a Latvian artist based in the Netherlands whose songs incorporate voice messages sent in by the public. Her track “Make Me Happy” has been featured on BBC Radio 1 and has surpassed 3 million streams on Spotify.

The final set of the Red Bull Zone at the festival will belong to Estonia’s oldest drum’n’bass collective Tjuun In, composed of three key figures: L.Eazy – one of Estonia’s drum’n’bass pioneers, To-Sha – known for his musical versatility and infectious energy, and Qba – a DJ and visual artist.
