Realizing the immense privilege of being able to enjoy outstanding concerts and other entertainment at this year’s Positivus Festival, it is impossible to ignore the mind-boggling war in Ukraine. This year’s festival will feature a unique exhibition, “Ukraine in Miniature,” specially brought from Ukraine. Two Ukrainian bands will perform at the festival, and in collaboration with the organizations “Tavi Draugi” and “Music Saves Ukraine,” festival-goers will be encouraged to donate to various support initiatives for Ukraine.

The exhibition “Ukraine in Miniature” will be on display at the festival grounds. This interactive exhibition highlights the significance of Ukraine’s cultural heritage, which is currently threatened by Russia’s full-scale invasion. It showcases Ukrainian cultural monuments, including buildings destroyed as a result of Russian aggression. The exhibition aims to emphasize the importance of Ukrainian culture in the European context and illustrate the extensive damage caused by Russia’s brutal full-scale invasion.

Two Ukrainian bands, OTOY and Love’n’Joy, will perform at the festival. Ukrainian rapper OTOY reflects the people’s fighting spirit against the Russian invaders and the associated hardships in his music. He has lost his older brother and, as a volunteer on the front lines, has helped search for the fallen. “I am proud of the Ukrainians who are fighting Putin’s army. The Russians have long crossed all red lines, and we must fight to the end,” says Vyacheslav.

The band Love’n’Joy, one of the most popular Ukrainian bands at the moment, was formed in Kyiv in 2009. The band is known for its indie rock sound, enhanced by elements of psychedelia and post-punk.

In addition to the aforementioned initiatives, this year, in collaboration with the organizations “Tavi Draugi” and “Music Saves Ukraine,” festival-goers are invited to make donations to support Ukraine.
