Taking place from 15-17 July, Positivus has become the largest music event in the Baltics and will attract over 30,000 visitors across the 3-day event. Now just 2 weeks away, its 10th anniversary edition will see the likes of Ellie Goulding, Iggy Pop, M83., Joss Stone, Years & Years, Hot Chip, John Newman, Air, Grimes, Wolf Alice and many more take to the stage amidst a dreamy forest setting.
With genres spanning pop, indie, synth-pop, punk rock, hip hop, electronic and more alongside the very best of the local scene there is something for every festival-goer to enjoy on this year’s diverse and exciting line-up.
Positivus Festival attracts more than 30 thousand festival-goers each year, with almost 10 thousand of them coming from territories outside Latvia. The budget for this year’s line-up has grown form 800 thousand euros last year to 1.2 millions euro this year. Festival promoter Ģirts Majors welcomes everyone to check out the full schedule. “It’s worth listening to bands that you don’t know yet and discover all the hidden gems of our anniversary line-up,” he says.
Alongside big names that don’t need an explanation this year’s line-up features such exciting projects as Liima, a new band formed by Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen and Rasmus Stolberg of Danish act Efterklang plus Finnish percussionist Tatu Rönkkö; Minor Victories – Rachel Goswell of Slowdive, Editors’ Justin Lockey, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite and James Lockey of Hand Held Cine Club; C2C DJ’s 20syl new project 20syl & Mr. J. Medeiros present AllttA, Vamipre Weekend’s bass-player Chris Baio’s solo project Baio, as well as the young and talented HANA, who has toured with Grimes – another guest of the anniversary festival.
