Now 29 years old, Orlando, Florida-born Danny Towers stands out among the majority of American rappers, primarily because he has of Puerto Rican and Cuban background. He became interested in hip-hop at a young age and first started rapping his own lyrics at the age of 14 on the instrumental version of the famous Kanye West song “So Appalled”, which also features Jay-Z, RZA and others. It’s a great courage and self-confidence to silence them all and rhyme your own lines instead, but also a good lesson that could mean both trying to get close to their level and to do even better. Danny posted his debut single “DropOut” on Soundcloud on 16 March 2016. He has two full-length studio albums under his belt, Tarantula (2019) and Safe House (2014), both of which feature guest appearances from another of this year’s Positivus guest artists, to whom Denny owes his first accolade when Ski Mask The Slump God invited him to contribute to “Geekin” from his second 2018 mixtape, Beware Ther Book Of Eli. Genius.com has described Danny Towers’ songs as aggressive, but it is relative, because not everything is as it sounds, although – on the other hand – rappers have always stood out for pretending the least of all artists in popular genres. The most popular songs are “Today,” “Dope & A Baby,” “How u Feel” and “Just A Year Ago”.
