ARTS AND NATURE STAGE LINE-UP UNVEILED BOASTING INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL PERFORMERS

With Positivus 10th anniversary fast approaching (just one month left!), we are unveiling the Arts and Nature stage line-up. Arts and Nature stage – one of the most scenic Positivus stages, set in the dunes among the pine trees, – will host a variety of artists this year, from legendary Latvian musicians, improvisation theatre, poetry and musical performances, to exclusive album presentation and world re-known acts.

Among other artists Arts and Nature stage will host American musician, singer/songwriter and producer HANA, who has toured with Land del Ray and received acclaim from fellow female singer-songwriters Grimes and Lorde.

Latvian band Ezeri will debut their new album at the festival and let us explore the wild side of pop music, creating a sonic space to inhabit and delve into.

We are equally looking forward to the emotional sound of piano by Latvian composer Vladislavs Nastavševs, who gave an unforgettable solo piano concert on the Arts and Nature stage last year.

The Latvian indie pop and new wave band Starmetis, that don’t place themselves in any frames, will take us for a wild ride and let the music dictate directions.

7Synths, an electronic music project, has united with VJ Artis Dzērve and his video projections to make their performance even brighter and more special.

The Arts and Nature stage will also host Gas of Latvia, one of the most significant electronic music projects from Latvia, and Tonik Ensemble, the musical output of Icelander Anton Kaldal Ágústsson with his deep, atmospheric pseudo-techno.

The Latvian Russian speaking poetry and multimedia group Orbita will introduce a poetry installation and a reading-performance called Slow Show FM, a poetic meditation with poetry, radio and piano.

Having gained a cult status as the best party band, after ten years of silence Regīna, boasting directors and actors from top Latvian theatres as its members, will once again perform live exclusively at Positivus Festival.

The line-up also features Latvian underground band Sūdi, who describe themselves as something between Latvian bard Imants Daksis and Radiohead; DJBRAIN & CLICHÉ, considered to be both one of the freshest and undeniably strongest most seasoned Latvian electronic music duos to date; performer Elizabeta Lāce, who was the opening act for the wonderful Arcade Fire violinist Sarah Neufeld; Anneli Arro, the drummer-percussionist of Latvian indie-pop band Sus Dungo; Polish duo Coals; Paris-based DJ and electronic producer DJ Colin Johnco. There will also be appearances by Latvian electro-accoustic project Northern C, the electro-clash band MMMM, multidisciplinary artist Indriķis Ģelzis, guitarist Reinis Jaunais and his band Young & The Oak People, Helena Kozlova’s band Levīti and electronic music artist Anna Pluto.

As usual, the Arts and Nature stage will also host performances by various improvisation theatre acts, including Comedy Latvia and Comedy Estonia, Prieka ministrija, Art-i-šok, KITKIT, ImproZoo and Riga Improvisation theatre. Meanhwhile dance and personality centre I-DEJAS MĀJA will offer a variety of activities near the Arts and Nature stage – from slow yoga, meditation, UCL Tai Ji, to African and Brazilian dance beats, Capoeira and TRX classes.
